Translate all devices into a foreign language
This is a quick and easy way to refresh your vocabulary and get your brain on the right wave.
For example, if you often go to “Settings”, you will constantly stumble across this word in a foreign language. And not just there, but also in the labels you see when you switch from tab to tab. And you will eventually memorize all these words very quickly.
If it’s a little difficult at first, don’t despair. Just use an online translator to find the right function on your phone and memorize the right word.
Surround yourself with audio information in the right language
The main problem with learning a language is that our subconscious perceives it as something incomprehensible and foreign. To get used to the sound of the new language, turn on a TV channel, interesting podcasts or interviews with celebrities in the desired language in the background. Listen to these while you do the housework or relax. You don’t have to stop at every unfamiliar word. Just listen to the language.
Do what you love in a foreign language
Try to transfer all your favorite activities into learning. Watch your favorite movies in a foreign language with subtitles (not in Russian!), translate songs yourself, communicate with an imaginary interlocutor – it’s much easier than stuttering and embarrassing yourself in front of a native speaker.
If you have a hobby, read articles about it. Or ask a friend to switch to a foreign language when corresponding with you. Let the translation software help you with this, but it will still retrain your brain to think in the right language.
Talk to yourself in a foreign language
List the foods you cook with, say what you see when you walk the dog, recount a recent conversation you had with your mom, and so on. Believe me, it’s addictive.
